Marmara opened in 2019 with twelve daybeds and a generator-powered bar — a bet that Saliara's marble pebbles and impossibly blue water deserved more than a towel on the ground. Six years on, it's the reason people plan their whole day around this stretch of coast.
Despina grew up in a fishing family a few coves over and spent a decade managing beach clubs in Mykonos before coming home to open Marmara. She still free-dives the bay most mornings before the first guests arrive.
